Arts stream is a very traditional stream, but offers numerous career opportunities to students. This is one of the main reasons why Arts still has takers in India!

Arts stream is made up of parts like humanities, visual arts, performing arts, literary arts etc. Students of arts have the freedom to explore. They can come with their own theories and thoughts. It also promotes their talents in writing and performing arts.

What are the pre-requisites to take Arts?

There are no major pre-requisites to taking arts. In order to take Arts, one must just have an interest in the field. They must also be able to express themselves well. They should be hardworking as subjects in arts like Economics, Sociology and History may involve a lot of fieldwork. They must be ready to do this work and should not make any excuses to avoid this as it plays a very important role in their development and the understanding of the subjects. 

What are career opportunities after Arts?

Arts provide various career opportunities. These include those of a painter, designer, an archaeologist, an animation artist. It also opens up jobs like those of a psychologist, journalist, media and film person. It also opens fields like those of Hotel Management, tourism industry, fashion blogger, event management. People can also become a lawyer, sociologist, anthropologist, a judge, language expert, a teacher. They can also become a counsellor, content writer and historian.
